Lydia J Baker, PhD
Marine Microbial Ecology
Symbiosis is a driving force in ecology and evolution, and this is especially true for marine organisms. My research uses advanced bioinformatic methods to explore intractable host-microbe interactions that are invaluable to our understanding of microbial ecology, the evolution of symbionts, and the impact microbes have on their host and the world. For more information about my professional background, check out my CV.
Research
My ultimate goal is to build an inclusive and diverse lab to explore questions in marine microbial ecology.
Teaching
Train the next generation of scientifically literate students and motivated researchers.
Outreach
Perform innovative work and share my findings with the public through talks and artwork.
